Add the Store's Address/Phone to the Email Receipt

This information pertains to the latest version of the Foxy admin. If you're using a previous version, please contact the help desk directly for information.

The the store is set up to send both the text and html versions of the receipt, you'll use the the following instructions. The text receipt provides a back up format just in case the customer's email client can't display html. How do I know if I'm using both text & email versions?

Here are instructions for adding the address to the text email:

  • Go to your templates email options in your FoxyCart admin. Here's a link to that area: https://admin.foxycart.com/admin.php?ThisAction=EditTemplate&template=email
  • Under if you like, choose a default template select Custom Text Template. A text box will appear.
  • In the receipt text email template look for this line:
    * {{ config.lang.checkout_merchant|pad(20)|raw }} {{ config.store_name }}
  • After that line, paste in your address ― for example:
    Address 1
    Address 2
    City, State Postcode
    Phone number

If you are using the HTML email receipt:

  • Just above the Update Template button, you'll see another option for the html receipt: if you like, choose a default template. There you'll select Custom Template.
  • Go to the receipt html email template text area and look for these lines:
    <h3 style="margin: 0;padding: 0;font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color: #666666;font-weight: bold;font-size: 13px;">{{ config.lang.checkout_merchant|raw }}</h3> {{ config.store_name }}<strong></strong>
  • After that, paste the following:
    <br>Address 1<br>Address 2<br>City, State postcode<br>phone<br>

After changing the templates, click Update Template to save and then test.

Testing your Changes

You can test an existing transaction by clicking the (email) link next to a transaction within the "transactions" report section of your store's administration. Note that this will re-send the email to the customer of that transaction as well, so you'll want to click the email link associated with a transaction that you placed yourself.
